Trip to USA in January 2009
With this bus we are in the dessert of Arizona and search for stones and minerals.
This old man we met in the middle of nowhere. He cuts and polishs stones with antique machines, but he has a sat-receiver and has contact with the world.
After a long trip we found a place where traders from all over the world sell their stones under the sky and in tents.
These pyritsuns we already bought for our customers. Now we are searching for Moqui Marbles. A new travelreport is following soon !
Impressions from Brasil
Each year we travel once to Brasil to find new stones and new goods. On these trips we see a lot and want to show our customers some pictures and give some explanations. On the first picture you see the entrance of an amethystmine.
Here you see an Amethystgeode in the mountain. The workers make a small hole and check with a small lamp for the quality.
With this transporter they carry the stones out of the mine.
Two workers after work in front of the mine.
The owner of the mine puts together the Amethystgeodes to a big lot. One can only buy the whole lot, and not choose one by one.
Another dealer shows bookends, tumbled stones and much more. Also for us it is difficult to choose, mostly we buy much more than we want.
These big points and spheres out of Rockcrystal we only looked at, however, very expensive to purchase.
These workers are making necklaces and bracelets out of very small, drilled stones.
In these tanks the rough stones are moved together with grinding powder for some days. When the stones come out they are smooth and nice to touch. These tumbled stones we love to take in our pocket.
Government buildings in the capital of Brasilia.
Cathedral of Brasilia
A wonderful sky in the evening discards us on our way home to Angelbachtal.
